My paintings are recollected images from the many walks I take in the natural landscape. With these memories, I begin the painting intuitively, recalling images of thick forests, rolling hills, reflective water and the infinity of luminous horizons. The surface of the painting is often scraped and scratched with a palette knife, revealing the colours beneath.Rather than coping every detail, I am more interested in portraying aspects of the landscape in a more personal way.
The many colours of the changing season inspire my work - from the muted tones of a rainy day, to the colourful vibrancy of a summer garden.
